In the face of rising demand, sustainable houses are becoming increasingly popular.
But how do you actually build one?
And where can you find one?
And how long can you keep one going?
We recently sat down with Michael A. Krasner, the director of the Sustainable House Institute at the University of Southern California and one of the country’s leading experts on sustainable housing, to find out how the industry is evolving.
As part of our continuing effort to highlight sustainable house design, we asked Kras.
He was gracious enough to share his advice for getting started, and how to take a project that’s been in the works for more than a decade and make it sustainable.
“The first step in the process is to ask yourself the question, what do you need from this house?
And then you go into the process of designing that house,” Kras said.
“It’s very similar to building a house, you’re asking yourself what you need in the house.
You’re asking, is this something that I want to build?
What do I need to make it work?
And you look at all the variables and try to understand what the benefits are for each of those variables, so that you can make decisions that are consistent with the design.
Then you can start to think about how the design of the house will work.
You can start looking at the materials, and you can think about the materials that you want.
So, it’s a very, very hands-on process. “
The second step in designing is figuring out how to actually build it.
So, it’s a very, very hands-on process.
You’ll do it on your own time, and then you’ll talk to your neighbors.
You might find that your neighbors like the house, and they’re excited about it.
You know, they might not like it as much as you would.
But it’s an ongoing process.
And the third step in building is building a roof.
So that’s the first step, and it’s not going to be easy.
But once you start to understand the process, once you understand the material, the process begins.
And once you figure out what the materials are going to look like, then you can build the house with them.
It’s just a matter of figuring out what materials to use and then figuring out the materials to work with.
The last step in that process is actually putting the roof together.
So once you’re done building the house and the roof is in place, you can finally put it on the roof.
And it’s just the last step of the process.
The final step is actually actually getting it up on the house.”
Krasner is also an avid builder, and a passionate home builder.
In fact, he has built over 30 homes in his life.
But he admits that he was initially hesitant to start a project like this, because he was skeptical that it would be practical.
“I thought, ‘How am I going to build these houses?
Is this going to work?'” he said.”
So I built a home for myself and then I was very skeptical of what it would actually look like.
And then I got to building one, and I had no idea how to build one.”
The first time he built a house he was very hesitant to do it, and when he got a chance to do another one, he realized he was not only building a home, but he was also building something that was more sustainable than anything else he’d ever built.
He has a couple of other projects lined up for his home, and the idea that he has to build more sustainable houses is not a new one.
Krosner said that the idea was born out of a realization that he could actually be an entrepreneur, and that he needed to put himself out there and build more projects, instead of just building houses.
As a kid growing up in the suburbs of California, he grew up with very little opportunity to build anything, much less a house.
“I had very little experience in the real world,” he said, adding that he never even considered building anything himself.
“You don’t build your own house.
I mean, I could have been a builder.”
As a teenager, Kras, who was raised by his grandparents, found a job at a bank, where he was told he was too young to build.
He took that job and built his first house on a trailer.
“And I think the thing that struck me the most about that house is that I never really had to think, ‘Wow, I want this,'” Kras recalled.
“Because I was just doing what I was told to do.”
And when he finally did get the opportunity to actually design a house himself, he was blown away by how well it worked.
“When I actually put the first house together, it was really quite amazing,” he explained.
“So, the second house was just the beginning.
And I went on to build
